How do you know when it's time to get a spinal adjustment?

How do you know if your spine is aligned correctly? Is it time to visit a chiropractor? Livestrong came up with a list of self-checks that you can do to identify symptoms of a misaligned spine. Some of the easiest symptoms that you can check are your leg length. Both legs are of the same length but if there are any problems with your lumbar spine, one leg may appear to be shorter up to an inch. Another easy way to check to is compare your shoe heels. Does one heel appear to wear differently than the other? If you have spinal problems, the effect is that your body will be putting more weight on one side than the other. If one of your heels look more worn than the other, it might be time to go and see a chiropractor.

Signs That Your Spine is Out of Alignment

Overview

The spinal column is made of bones called vertebrae, soft cushioning discs that act as shock absorbers and strong, heavy ligaments that add form and stability. Attached to the spine are many muscles that give strength and movement to the spine. The spine houses the spinal cord and spinal nerves that carry information to the entire body. The spine is a complex structure designed to move and is susceptible to dysfunction. When the spine becomes misaligned, it can affect function in a variety of ways. There are several key signs that your spine, or the supporting structures, may be out of alignment.
